Why Internet Friends Make The Best of Friends

After a debate with my dad about whether or not it is a good idea to meet people on the internet, I thought that I would write a little bit about why internet friends can make some of the best friends you will ever have.

I’ve met a lot of friends through the internet and even met my partner of two years through the internet so it’s pretty obvious that I think internet friends are definitely real friends.

So, here’s why…

You can meet people from all over the world.

Without having to limit yourself to a 20 mile radius, you can meet people all over the world. I’ve made friends from the UK, Japan and the USA.

Your friends will understand your nerdy obsessions.

You probably met your online friends while geeking out online over some fandom. That way, your friends will instantly understand the obsession and won’t look at you weirdly like real life friends will.

They are there 24/7.

If you wake up in the night wanting to talk to someone, they are just a text or call away. They may not physically be there to wipe your tears, but anytime something goes wrong or you’re in a rut, they’re always there to listen to your problems and offer the best advice possible.

The day you finally get to meet them is the best day of your life.

It can feel so heartwarming to finally get to hug your friend for the first time. You can finally meet up, get a coffee and do all the fun things that you planned to do together.

What do you love most about your internet friends?

So true!! I have only just recently entered the blogging world and have already met so many amazing people from all over. The internet is seriously an incredible thing, it gives us the opportunity to connect with people we may never have otherwise. Great post!
