Once again, I’m doing a tag post that I wasn’t actually tagged in. I just love a good tag post and I also love talking about mental health and ways people can recover from their issues. So I thought, why not try The Mental Health Tag. This tag was created by Hollie Rose and I’m so happy that she decided to create it.
1. What is your Mental Health Issue?
I have BPD, depression and anxiety.
2. Do you have medication and/or therapy?
As I am writing this, it’s the second day of going up on my medication. I am currently on antidepressants and antipsychotics.
3. What therapy/medication have you tried and has any worked for you?
I have tired, counselling, psychiatrist, group therapy. Medication seems to be the only thing that actually works for me. I am currently on fluoxetine and aripiprozole.
4. How long have you had problems for?
I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety at age 16 but I have been ill for as long as I can remember. I have only recently been diagnosed with BPD but honestly, the diagnosis fits me perfectly.
5. Does your family/friends know?
I am very open about my mental health so all my family and friends know but I wouldn’t say that they all full understand.
6. Does this effect your work and daily living?
Definitely. I have been out of work for years now and I don’t see myself going back any time soon. I am just not in the right frame of mind. It has an impact on my daily living majorly in ways I can’t even explain. It just makes daily living harder.
7. What makes you feel calm?
Things such as reading, blogging, going for a walk and swimming always help to make me feel calm.
8. What do you do in a crisis?
I am not very good at dealing with a crisis but I would usually just talk to my boyfriend and if things are really bad then I head to A&E. Don’t be afraid to go to A&E if you need help.
9. What advice would you give others stuffering?
Reach out for help. There’s so many amazing services and people who can help and you’ll feel so much better after talking about things. A problem shared is a problem halved.
10. What makes you smile?
My boyfriend, Disney, animals, flowers, chocolates, sleep.
11. Describe your mental health issue in 5 words.
Exhausting, Draining, Difficult, Confusing, Impulsive.
