We all know how important it is to get a good nights sleep! A good nights sleep can improve your health, increase your mood and can even improve your sex life.
Here’s my top tips for getting the perfect night’s sleep…
Have a bedtime routine
Lots of people have a day-to-day routine but seem to slack off when it comes to an evening routine. By doing the same things every night before bed, it trains your mind to shut down at the same time every night. Going to bed at the same time every night will prime your body for sleep and help you to sleep well every night.
No tech before bed
This is something that I struggle with but it’s so important. I’m always tempted to check Twitter or Facebook just ‘one more time’ but that time turns into an extra hour that I could have been sleeping.
Have a nice warm drink before bed
There’s nothing like having a nice cup of tea before bed or a lovely glass of warm milk. Warm milk is my go-to, late night drink. I just love it for helping me relax or calm down.
Practise bedtime yoga
Yoga is the best, isn’t it? There’s so many positives about yoga but I won’t start listing them all now. Not only is yoga good for stretching in the morning but it’s great for stretching just before you go to sleep. I like to try to do about 10-15 minutes of yoga every evening just before bed. You can even do yoga in bed!
Track your sleep
This is one of the main reasons that I have a FitBit. It tracks how well you sleep and how long you sleep. Even if you don’t have a FitBit, write down what time you go to bed and what time you wake up. Tracking your sleep can be a key to success in getting the right amount of sleep needed for your body.
Get the perfect bed and mattress
Invest in a good mattress and bed. You are worth it and you deserve to have a good nights sleep. You can get good quality electric beds from Adjustamatic. They have over 85,000 satisfied customers and I think that’s pretty good! They really are the #SleepExperts.
