How To Get Back On Track After Being Poorly

I feel like I am forever getting colds and other illnesses and sicknesses. It sucks! It takes it out of you. You don’t get to nourish your body the way that you want to when you are poorly so it’s easy to slip off track.

Just want to make sure you know, it’s completely alright to slip off track when you’re ill. It happens and you’re not a failure for doing so. You’re jus human like the rest of us.

Here’s my helpful tips on how to get back on track after you’ve been poorly!

Rest it out

Rest is the total key to getting better. Don’t worry about trying to get to the gym and don’t worry about what you’re eating, just rest and make yourself better. You don’t want to push yourself too hard and end up making yourself even more ill. No one wants that!

Ease into fitness

So, you’re beginning to feel a little better..? It’s time to ease yourself back into fitness. Don’t push yourself too much but try something small. Try a light job around the block or heading to the gym and just walking on the treadmill. You don’t want to push yourself too hard because your body won’t be prepared and you could make yourself even more poorly.

Keep hydrated

When you’ve eased back into fitness after being ill, prepare for the sweat. If you’re working hard enough, you will sweat, a lot. That’s why it’s super important to keep hydrated by drinking lots of water. Staying hydrated will help prevent you catching any other germs that linger at the gym too.

Refuel your body with goodness

When I’m ill, I either eat a lot or nothing at all. Usually it’s nothing at all though. That’s why it’s important to start eating the right foods again. You don’t want your body to miss out on important nutrient that your body needs to function.

What do you do to ease back into your routine after being poorly?

Great post! I’m struggling with this at the moment, feeling quite run down and it’s affecting the creative part of my brain. I’m feeling a bit better today but I find it’s better to just get away from electronics and watch a film and give yourself a day off if possible.

Yesterday I managed to go on my bike for 6 minutes but then last night I managed a walk and got my fitbit steps in with some sea air.

I often feel better if I eat fruit and veggies and drink plenty of water, eating junk food is nice in the moment but it tends to make me feel worse the next day. Also COFFEE lol.
