4 Reasons I Won’t Read Your Blog Post

I spend a lot of time reading blog posts that I find through WordPress reader, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and basically any social media. I love doing it. It’s lovely to see what other people are getting up to and to get some good advice. It also helps establish relationships with other bloggers.

Over my time of reading blogs, I’ve noticed that there’s a couple of things that happen which make me close the blog straight away.

Reasons I Won't Read Your Blog

You have huge chunks of text.

I enjoy reading posts but I don’t enjoy feeling like I’m back in school reading essays. No one wants to be doing that.

You don’t have a photo of yourself.

I like to see who is speaking to me. It makes me feel more connected to the person and lets me feel like I can relate to you more.

Your design is an eye sore.

If i visit your blog and the colours are crazy and clashing then I will probably click off without reading a single post. No one wants to get a headache from reading blog posts.

Pops ups and email subscriptions appear as soon as I click onto your blog.

If I’m only just visiting your blog then I definitely won’t want to subscribe to email alerts already!

Having said all of this, your blog is your online space. You can do whatever you want with it and you shouldn’t worry about wether or not someone else likes exactly what you have done. Blog however you want!

really agree with what you’ve just said! although everyone’s blog is there own blog and they can do what they want with their little bit of the internet, readers/viewers have their own preferences to want makes they want to read a blog and come back to it! these are also some great tips to get more traffic also, great post 🙂

These are really useful for making sure my blog is one that you stay on!

I really hate HUGE chunks of text too – mainly because I’m a lazy reader. Those pop up sign up boxes really irritate me as well, they usually only pop up once I’m well into reading something!
